Welcome! Below you’ll find everything you need to know about my tattoo process and policies.
Tattoo Policies & Pricing Guide
Hours of Operation
Please note that I do not tattoo on weekends.
My general tattoo appointment hours are:
Monday – Friday
12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
All consultations and tattoo sessions are scheduled by appointment only.
Hourly Rate
$270(plus sales tax) per hour of tattooing (see Appointment Options to learn about flat rate discount for full day bookings)
This rate already includes a 15% tip — no additional tipping is expected.
Cash and most cards are accepted
You are only billed for time spent tattooing
Setup, stencil prep, breaks, and cleanup are not included in your bill.
Tattoo Deposit Policy
A $270 deposit is required to secure your tattoo appointment.
Deposits are non-refundable, except at my discretion.
Your deposit will be applied to the total cost of your tattoo.
For multi-session projects, the deposit is applied to your final session (you’re essentially paying up front for your last hour of tattooing).
Your deposit may be forfeited if:
You cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours’ notice.
You don’t show up for your appointment.
You arrive more than 30 minutes late.
If forfeited, a new deposit is required to reschedule.
Cash and most cards are accepted, but cash is preferred for deposits. I don’t keep cash on hand, so any overpayment will be applied to your tattoo total.
Custom Tattoo Design Process
The usual process goes like this:
Your ideas are thoroughly discussed in a consultation. I take notes, and a tracing and photos of the area to be tattooed.
When we’re both feeling confident about proceeding, I collect a deposit and schedule your tattoo appointment, with the trust that I will design something you’ll love.
At your tattoo appointment, I show you a line-drawing of your requested design, then we get started on the tattoo.
On rare occasions, design alterations are requested on the day of the tattoo appointment. If that happens:
If I approve of the request, I may be able to make small adjustments on the same day.
Some changes may require postponing the tattoo to a later date.
I may refuse to make alterations if I deem the request to be unreasonable
Requests for alterations must be reasonable and within the scope of the originally discussed concept.
Example: If you originally asked for a sleeping fox and decide you want a leaping fox instead, that’s a new design, not an alteration.
Alternatively, if you are anxious about seeing your design on the day of your appointment, you have the option to request an art consultation and pay a drawing fee for the opportunity to have multiple stages of review and to make requests for revisions to your design before your tattoo appointment. The drawing fee & art consultation are OPTIONAL and BY REQUEST ONLY. Most clients choose to skip this option and trust me with the design, as the art consultation process is timely and expensive. If you are still interested, please scroll to down to the Art Consultations section for more details.
Custom Tattoo Appointment Scheduling Options
For large or multi-session projects, I offer two appointment types. Both are designed to support different pain tolerances, budgets, and time commitments.
All pricing includes a 15% tip — no additional tipping is expected.
3.5-Hour Appointment – Billed Hourly
Ideal for clients who:
Prefer shorter sessions
Have limited availability
Want to spread out the cost of a large project
Are unsure of their pain tolerance or ability to sit for extended sessions
Duration: 3.5 hours total
Includes 1.5 to 2.5 hours of tattooing (plus setup, breaks, and cleanup)
Pricing:
Billed at $270/hour
Typical session total: $405–$675 (plus sales tax)
8-Hour Appointment – Flat Day Rate: $875 (plus sales tax)
Ideal for clients who:
Are working on large designs like sleeves or backpieces
Want to make substantial progress in one day
Are traveling or prefer fewer total sessions
Appointment Duration: 8 hours total (including breaks, setup, etc)
Includes 3.5 to 4.25 hours of tattooing
Time is capped to preserve quality and avoid burnout (for both of us)
Flat Rate: $875 (plus sales tax)
Flat rate is equal in price to 3.25 hours at my hourly rate of $270
You’ll save $70 to $272.50 compared to hourly billing
If you tap out before 3.25 hours, you will be billed by how many hours you were tattooed
Flat rate is not available for flash designs, unless offered by me.
Note on Early Tap-Outs:
Booking a full day reserves my entire workday exclusively for you.
If you’re unsure about your ability to sit for a full session, I recommend booking a 3.5-hour appointment.
If you tap out somewhat early (around 2 hours of tattoo time), you may lose the opportunity for longer sessions in the future. If you tap out very early in the appointment (an hour or less of tattoo time), your deposit may be forfeited.
Please note: The following section is only for those who would like to request an art consultation. Art Consultations and associated Drawing Fees are NOT REQUIRED & COMPLETELY OPTIONAL!
Art Consultations – Overview
Please note: Art Consultations & associated Drawing Fees are completely OPTIONAL and BY REQUEST ONLY.
Art consultations must be requested. Unless you request an art consultation before or during our initial tattoo consultation, I will assume you would like to skip the drawing fee and art consultation process.
You can follow my usual process and skip the drawing fee and art consultation if you are comfortable trusting me to present a design that you will love on the day of your tattoo appointment.
An art consultation may be a good fit if you:
Feel anxious about seeing the line drawing on the day of your tattoo appointment.
Want to review the design before booking your tattoo appointment.
Want the opportunity to request changes before your tattoo appointment.
Want to see both a finalized line drawing and a rough shaded version of the tattoo before submitting a deposit and booking your tattoo appointment.
The Drawing Fee is made in two installments of $235, for a total of $470 (no sales tax)
Non-refundable
Not applied to the tattoo cost
Please see Art Consultations – Process below for details on installments.
Requests for changes must be reasonable and remain within the scope of your original request
Example: Changing a fox to a wolf would require a new consultation and fee.
I may refuse requests for major changes to subject, structure, or concept that were not originally discussed.
Art consultations must be at least two weeks apart, due to my workload and design time.
Because the process is time-consuming and costly, most clients choose to skip the art consultation.
Art Consultations – Process
Art Consultations – Process
If you opted to go the art consultation route, we begin with a consultation meeting to discuss your ideas.
Once we’re both feeling confident about proceeding, I will collect the first $235 drawing fee, and schedule you for your first art consultation appointment.
At your first art consultation appointment, I will show you a rough design concept sketch.
I will present a rough sketch showing concept, composition, and general placement of your requested tattoo idea.
You may request reasonable alterations that are within the scope of your originally discussed request. If alterations are requested, we will schedule a follow up concept sketch appointment to review a revised compositional sketch.
If major changes are requested during your follow up concept sketch appointment, I may decline further revisions and choose not to move forward with the project.
If no alterations are requested and you would like to move on to the final art consultation, I will collect the second $235 drawing fee and schedule your final art consultation
If you are feeling confident in the concept sketch and are comfortable seeing the refined line drawing on the day of your tattoo appointment, you have the option of skipping the final art consultation/second $235 drawing fee. In that case, I will collect your tattoo deposit and schedule your tattoo appointment.
This meeting — and any follow-ups — may be in person or via video call/email.
In the final art consultation, I’ll present a finalized line drawing and a shaded study of the tattoo (shaded studies are not fully rendered, but will give a clear idea of how the tattoo will be shaded. At this stage, only minor revisions will be considered.
Once you have approved your design, I’ll collect your $270 tattoo deposit and schedule your tattoo appointment.
