Tattoo Policies & Pricing

  • No duplicating or copying

All of the tattoos I make are drawn and designed by me. I don’t accept requests to duplicate designs/drawings/art from other artists/tattooers/friends/family. I may make exceptions for famous works of art by long dead artists.

  • When will you see your custom design?

Most of my clients see their design on the day of the tattoo appointment, unless an art-consultation has been requested, approved, and paid for.

  • Art-consultations

Art-consultations are optional for those that want an opportunity to see, discuss, and request changes to a line drawing of their requested design prior to their tattoo appointment. Art-consultations are available only by request and require a non-refundable drawing-fee of $235 (equal to one hour of tattooing before 15% gratuity). Drawing-fees are not deposits, and will not be applied to the total of your tattoo.

If you request and pay for an art-consultation, your tattoo appointment will only be scheduled after the design has been approved and a deposit has been submitted. During your art-consultation, you will have the opportunity to request changes to the design, but only requests within reason will be honored, i.e. requests for changes within the scope of what was originally discussed.

If a request for changes has been made and approved, a follow up art-consultation will be scheduled. If more changes are requested, I may decline to make further changes.

  • Tips are baked in

By baking a 15% gratuity into my hourly rate for tattooing, I aim to make the cost of your visit more straightforward and predictable, and to eliminate the need for you to calculate and handle additional payments at the end of your visit. Adjusting my prices also allows me to earn a more predictable income to support myself and my business, without relying on tips.

*I will automatically skip the tipping option with card payments, unless you inform me that you would like to tip more than the already included 15%.

  • Hourly-rate & flat-rates

Hourly-rate: $270 per hour of tattooing (basically $235 per-hour, with a 15% tip already included).

I only charge for tattoo time, so you will not be billed for setup and breaks.

Flat-rate: some of my available designs or flash tattoos that can be finished in a single session may be priced at a flat-rate. Prices may be adjusted for changes in size.

*Some of my available designs and flash tattoos may be priced by my hourly rate, rather than flat-rate.

  • Deposits

    Custom tattoo deposits are $200

Flash and available-design deposits may vary

Deposits are required to schedule a tattoo appointment. Deposits are non-refundable and are applied to your total due upon completion of your tattoo. For example: if your total due is $800, you’ll owe $600 plus sales tax.

If your tattoo requires multiple sessions, your deposit will remain on hold until your last appointment and be applied to your total due on that final appointment.

  • Sales tax

Washington state requires 10.25% sales tax on tattoos, because they consider it to be retail, rather than a service. They say that I’m selling you ink. I think that’s ridiculous. Tattooing is clearly a service, not retail. But that’s the way it is, so be prepared to pay an additional 10.25% sales tax on your total. Anyway, I’m done complaining!

  • Minimum price

My minimum price for any tattoo is $200. Every tattoo requires the use of high-quality equipment and materials, as well as time to design, discuss, schedule, prepare for, and clean-up. And that’s before the cost of the studio space itself. My minimum price helps cover these essential operational costs, allowing me to continue offering top-notch services. The minimum price also ensures that my expertise and hard work are fairly compensated.

  • 18+ only

You must be over 18 years old, with valid government issued ID, at the time of your tattoo appointment. No exceptions, even with parental consent.

  • Tokens of appreciation

If you would like to show a non-cash token of appreciation for the service I provided for you…

I wouldn’t be mad if you brought me a bottle of booze that you like, a 6-pack of tasty IPA, or an interesting item to adorn my shelves- I like old things, crystals, skeletons, or framed insects (please no bugs that you’ve found, unless your in the business of preserving insects).

I also have a lot of 14”x11” stuff that I want to frame, so 14”x11” frames with glass are always useful.
