Now Accepting Custom Tattoo Requests For 2026

When approaching custom tattoo requests, my goal is to use my 15+ years of professional tattooing experience and my creative problem solving abilities to translate your request to a unique tattoo that we can both be proud of. In order to accomplish that, I am selective about which tattoo requests I choose to fulfill, and I recommend reading the following before submitting your custom tattoo request.

Custom Tattoo Design Process

1– Submit A Custom Tattoo Request

You can submit your custom tattoo request at the bottom of this page, but I recommend reviewing the entire custom tattoo process before submitting your request.

Due to the volume of inquiries I receive, long wait times should be anticipated. If your request aligns well with my focus and style of tattooing, I will send you a consultation scheduling link.

If you’ve already gotten the tattoo from someone else or your tattoo idea has changed by the time you’re invited to a consultation, you’re welcome to discuss a new idea with me.

2– Initial Consultation

Your ideas are thoroughly discussed in an in-person consultation (virtual consultations may be available upon request, but in person is best). Once we are on the same page and both feeling great about proceeding:

  • I’ll complete my notes, and take a tracing and photos of the area to be tattooed.

  • I will collect a $250 non-refundable deposit.

    • Your deposit will go toward the total due at the end of your first tattoo session. (For more details see Policies & Pricing)

    • This deposit protects my drawing time and any lost time that may occur in the event of a cancellation.

  • For larger, multi-session projects:

    • Larger projects include a concept review prior to the first tattoo session (more details below).

    • We will schedule a follow-up concept review and your first tattoo appointment.

    • I will provide you with a link to schedule follow-up tattoo appointments at your own convenience.

    • A new deposit is required to schedule every follow up tattoo appointment. Each deposit will go toward the total due at the end of its corresponding tattoo appointment. (For more details see Tattoo Policies & Pricing)

  • For smaller, single-session projects:

    • Single-session tattoos typically do not include a concept review. You will see the final line drawing on the day of your tattoo appointment.

    • If you would like to request a concept review, I may require a non-refundable $150 drawing-fee in addition to your $250 deposit to compensate me for the additional time spent meeting and drawing.

3– Concept Review (For Larger Projects or Upon Request)

Concept reviews are intended to confirm alignment on the primary layout and idea. During the concept review, I will present a rough concept sketch that establishes the overall composition and direction of your design.

My designs are developed based on our consultation and my professional judgment regarding composition, longevity, and placement.

One round of reasonable adjustments is included at this stage. Minor adjustments are possible and requests for revisions can be made. However, requests that significantly expand beyond the agreed concept may not be approved.

Example: If you originally requested a sleeping fox and later decide you prefer a sleeping fox, that would be considered a new design rather than a revision.

If a substantial redesign is requested beyond the included revision, additional drawing time may be required. In some cases, this may involve rescheduling tattoo appointments or concluding that the project is not the right fit moving forward.

4– First Tattoo Session

When you arrive, I will present the finalized line drawing, which will be used to create the stencil for your tattoo. After reviewing and approving the stencil, you will complete required paperwork and provide government-issued identification, then we’re on to the tattoo part!

At the end of the session, I will walk you through my recommended aftercare routine before collecting payment for the session.

Your $250 deposit will be applied toward the total due at the end of your first session. Tattooing is billed by my hourly rate of $250 per hour (no tipping expected). A new deposit is required to secure each additional appointment. (For more details see Policies & Pricing).

On rare occasions, minor design adjustments may be requested or necessary on the day of the appointment. If adjustments are small, reasonable, and feasible, they may be made the same day. Larger alterations may require rescheduling. I may decline to make revisions if I deem the request to be unreasonable (outside the scope of the original request).

Requesting a Custom Tattoo

If you’re unsure of what you’d like to request, but know that you’d like to get a custom tattoo from me… below, you’ll find a handful of themes and subject matter that I’d be interested in tattooing.

Of course, I still want to hear your ideas even if they’re not on this list– these are just a few ideas that I would like to see on someone, or enjoy tattooing. Please keep in mind that I’m thinking about these as independent themes and subject matter, not as a mix-and-match menu– however, I’m open to hearing your ideas if you’re interested in some combination of themes. Some of the subjects could be large scale or small scale.

  • Large Scale I consider large scale to be work that spans a portion of the body. Examples: spanning back, chest, or front-torso – spanning ribs, or hip – spanning an arm or leg – spanning entire forearm, entire upper-arm, entire lower-leg, or entire upper-leg.

    • Snakes – I’d be stoked to do most kinds of snakes, but most interested in fantasy/stylized snakes, vipers, colubrids, and elapids– less interested in pythons and boas.

    • Birds – Open to species. Interested in dynamic poses on front-torso or back (like a pelican diving, hawks fighting in air, etc). For arms and legs, I’m more interested in perched or standing poses, but some dynamic poses may also work on the limbs.

    • Flowers – I would like to focus on a single species or type of flower (Chinese chrysanthemum, rose, lily, etc) and have it span a large portion of the body in a way that compliments the body’s shape.

    • Abstract Textures and Patterns – I like the idea of doing a full sleeve or half-sleeve that is purely an exploration of flow, texture, value, and negative space.

    • Geometric Patterns and/or Ornamental Design – I’m interested in doing full sleeves, back pieces, or front-torso that use repeating patterns, mandalas, and/or ornamental design to compliment the form of the body.

    • Skeletons doin’ stuff! – If you’re familiar with my work, you know I do a lot of skeletons, doin’ a lot of stuff.

    • Octopus – I wanna do some big ass octopi. Realistic or highly stylized, I’m game.

  • Medium/Small Scale (think approximately hand-sized, give or a take a few inches)

    • Birds

    • Geometric Designs

    • Pet Portraits – would like to do realistic depictions of pet face/head, maybe with some ornamentation, but I’m looking to keep the focus on making an accurate depiction of your pet without getting lost in the weeds.

    • Moths, Butterflies, or Insects

    • Whimsical Anthropomorphized Animals – think punk-rock-penguin, doctor-hamster, etc– not your dog or cat as a punk rocker or doctor.

    • Impossible Shapes – think Penrose Triangle, or M.C. Escher type imagery.

    • Portals – a door leading to a mystical place, or stairway.

    • Flowers – I’d like to do some elegant depictions of a single species or type of flower, rather than an arrangement of multiple species of flowers.

Submitting Your Custom Tattoo Request

I generally do not take on requests that:

  • Require me to replicate or mime another artist’s work or style – I sometimes make exceptions for famous works of art, made by long dead artists).

  • Include script, quotes, or lettering (I sometimes make exceptions for 1-3 words, in a custom font designed by me).

  • Depict specific landmarks/landscapes/buildings/monuments I generally prefer to capture the essence of a place or region, rather than specific landmarks or monuments– think PNW landscape or SW desert landscape, not Mt. Rainier or the Grand Canyon.

  • Add to, extend, or complete a tattoo originally created or started by another artist.

  • Require coverup of a previously existing tattoo, unless you’re open to getting a color tattoo from me.

When you send your request, please include:

  • A clear description of your idea – Please be more descriptive than “I want a bird”.

  • Desired placement on the body

  • Approximate size

  • Any reference photos – optional, but if you think I should see it, feel free to share. If your request involves working around or tattooing over other tattoos or scar tissue, please share a photo of the area.

If your idea aligns well with my style and current interests, I’ll reach out to book a consultation, but please be aware that long wait times are a possibility. It’s just me handling everything, so I appreciate your patience. Thanks so much for considering me for your custom tattoo!
